In 2009, I engaged with the Ealing Development Management Strategy Issues and Options consultation on behalf of a London-based commercial property company with a substantial multi-let workspace portfolio, and followed this with representations to the Development Sites document in 2010.
Together, these documents established both the policy criteria and the specific site-level framework for managing development across the borough.
Representations to the issues and options consultation focused on the early-stage opportunity to influence policy direction, advocating for a flexible, market-sensitive approach to employment land management.
The development sites work then translated this into site-specific contexts, ensuring that individual client locations were appropriately allocated and that any constraints on future use were proportionate and evidence-based.
Engaging across both documents ensured a coherent and coordinated approach to policy advocacy, maximising the impact of the representations in Ealing's emerging planning framework.
