Planning Policy in Southwark: Core Strategy
On behalf of a London workspace operator, I submitted representations to the Southwark Core Strategy Submission in 2010. I advocated for flexible employment land policies in one of the capital's most commercially diverse inner-city boroughs.

In 2010, I engaged with the Southwark Core Strategy Submission on behalf of a London-based commercial property company with a substantial multi-let workspace portfolio.
Southwark is a borough of significant commercial diversity, encompassing major office markets at London Bridge alongside traditional industrial and managed workspace estates further south, and the core strategy needed to reflect this complexity in its employment land policies.
Representations focused on ensuring that the strategic policy framework recognised the importance of flexible managed workspace and supported commercial landlords in adapting their portfolios to meet changing occupier needs.
The submission stage is the last opportunity to make representations before formal examination, and the evidence presented needed to be robust and clearly reasoned.
The core strategy engagement helped ensure that the client's commercial interests across Southwark were positively reflected in the adopted development plan, providing a firm policy basis for future site development and planning applications.
