In 2025, Tendring District Council approved full planning permission for the demolition of an existing two-storey dwelling in Clacton-on-Sea and its replacement with three detached three-bedroom bungalows.
3 Dwellings Granted Planning Permission in Clacton-on-Sea
I secured planning permission from Tendring District Council for the demolition of an existing dwelling and construction of three detached bungalows in Clacton-on-Sea.
The site lies within the defined Settlement Development Boundary, meaning the principle of residential development was clearly supported.
Bungalows are suited to the character of this part of Clacton-on-Sea, where single-storey dwellings are a common feature.
The proposed bungalows were designed to be well-spaced and generously sized, with good private amenity space and a layout that respected the relationship with neighbouring properties.
On ecology, surveys were commissioned to assess the existing building and surrounding land for protected species, particularly bats. A mitigation strategy was prepared to address any findings.
On highways, the access and parking arrangement was designed to meet Essex Highways' requirements, and a formal highways assessment confirmed safe access and adequate on-site parking.
Tendring District Council approved the application, confirming the scheme complied with all relevant planning policies.
